Your Strap Is Showing
The Victoria's Secret fashion show won't come on TV until December but while we wait, we have plenty of pictures of the show to keep us company. Aside from all the performances and stars at the event, one of the main attractions of the show is the fantasy bra. The fantasy bra first made its appearance in 1996, one year after the first Victoria's Secret fashion show. It used to be known as the "Million Dollar Bra" but seeing as how the worth of these bras have ranged up to $15 million, it's no surprise that it was renamed to the Fantasy Bra. Most of the fantasy bras are actually no longer in existence as they're usually deconstructed and the precious stones reused in other pieces. To date, only two of the bras have ever been purchased, bought by some mysterious person in Europe.
This year's bra is valued at $1 million and was worn by Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk. Most of us probably can't afford the Swarovski diamond encrusted lingerie but that doesn't mean you can't rock similarly embellished pieces. In fact, if you're looking for a wallet-friendly version of the bra, Victoria's Secret will be selling a less pricey version of the bra for the first time ever starting at the end of November. You can also head on over to H&M where they produced an almost identical bra for a fraction of the cost at $200. Still pretty expensive but at least it's not $1 million expensive.
Victoria's Secret and H&M are not the only places where you can get beautifully embellished undergarments. The trend of blinged out bras and lingerie has become widely popular which means there are plenty of stores that sell similar products. The best part is that you be in the trend no matter what your price point is. Below we found four different stores that sell accessorized lingerie pieces at multiple price points and honestly, they're all beautiful.
These lingerie pieces are not your grandma's underwear. And today's fashion doesn't follow the same rules as your grandma's era either. These blinged out bras and undergarments are really works of art. They can make the perfect accessory or be the focal point of your next outfit. There's a wide range of ways you can wear them so that you look stylish and fit for any occasion from a night out dancing to a nice dinner or even a wedding for those of us daring enough. Check out these ladies who took their sparkled lingerie from the bedroom and turned them into another stylish streetwear accessory.
You also don't have to limit yourself to what you can buy. For the DIY queens out there, there are a ton of tutorials for creating your own unique, blinged out piece. The best part about making your own, is that you'll own your own, custom made and one-of-a-kind accessory just like the Fantasy Bra, without having to drop a million bucks.
