There’s a lot that we know about ourselves now that would have been great for a younger us to know but it also wouldn’t have shaped us into the people we are today. In her recent Vogue cover article, Beyonce had a pivotal moment where she reflected on her younger self. ''I look at the woman I was in my 20s and I see a young lady growing into confidence but intent on pleasing everyone around her,'' Beyoncé said. ''I now feel so much more beautiful, so much sexier, so much more interesting. And so much more powerful.'' We all have to grow through things but if you could give younger you a message what would you say?  notes

While we may never get that chance to step back we can take steps to make sure the future us knows that we were being our best selves. Send the messages now. Writing notes to yourself is one way to control your energy. Remember Gabrielle Union’s character in Being Mary Jane she waconstantly writing on little post-its. Positive affirmations, quotes, reminders, anything that spoke to her. Union’s character then placed them on every surface in her home. Imagine waking up and not having the best day but when you go to wash your face there’s an encouraging message waiting for you.

We get busy, we get overwhelmed by work, overwhelmed by relationships with friends, family, partners. It becomes easy to forget about you. Self-care may seem like a lavish and egocentric term to some but it’s a vital part of our health, both physically and mentally.  Self-care is the action of self-love, you have to ensure that you value yourself and make you a priority. There are small things you can do that aren't very time consuming that will make you feel and look good. Adding these tiny notes to self  to your daily routine can do wonders for your self-esteem.
