You may or may not have heard of Jodie Turner-Smith. If you haven't, that's okay. She's an up and coming actress who will be making her feature film debut in next year's movie Queen & Slim which has some Hollywood heavyweights attached. The motion picture was written by Lena Waithe aka the first black woman to win a Primetime Emmy Award and will be directed by Melina Matsoukas who directed Beyonce's iconic Formation music video. Jodie is starring alongside Daniel Kaluuya who, if you haven't heard of then…where have you been? His current acting resume includes two of the biggest movies in the last two years (Get Out and Black Panther) and there's no sign of his career slowing down anytime soon with another one of his movies, Widows, coming out next week. That movie also looks amazing btw, just watch the trailer:

With his presence in the movie, it might help boost Jodie's career into the same limelight. Daniel might be at the point of boosting others' careers now but this status is fairly new. Although he seemed to gain overnight fame with the success of Get Out, Daniel's career did not come overnight. Prior to the Academy nominated movie, he made appearances in films such as Sicario and Kick-Ass 2 and shows like Black Mirror and Babylon. He even did some time on the live stage like with the play Sucker Punch for which he won an Evening Standard Theatre Award. Daniel Kaluuya has definitely kept himself busy and successful the last few years. So far, his most notable roles so far haven't been that of the swoon worthy, dream man that every girl pines after but that doesn’t mean doesn't look the part and carry himself well. He's the undercover heartthrob, always well dressed, well groomed on and off screen. Part of what is attractive about Daniel Kaluuya and any man for that matter is properly caring for himself.

Going the extra steps to take care of yourself will carry over into looking put together and presentable. Look the part get the part whether its acting, business, or catching the eye of your cursh. In this society, where men are conditioned to believe that self care shouldn’t be a priority, let us tell you, it is! And it's not that hard to incorporate some basic style and hygiene habits, even some that you might not have thought of before. These are some tips that you can add into your life so you can be grown.

Casual clothes are nice. They're comfy. But you should always have more formal things to wear. Being formal doesn't mean you have to look stuffy. The best looks seem put together but effortless at the same time. If you need ideas or inspiration, check out @joekenneth on IG. He knows what he's doing.

Eat well. By well we don't mean gorge yourself any chance you get. We mean eat healthy. You're a grownup. Cereal for dinner every night is not good anymore. Well, it was never really good tbh.

Do your nails. You don’t have to paint them (although it's fine if you do). But cut your nails and FILE them! No one likes getting scratched up with jagged nails. It takes an extra 5 minutes and boom. They look and feel a million times better.

Speaking of your hands, moisturize them. Remember to get the skin around your nails aka your cuticles as well. That helps get ride of all those hangnails. This Shea Moisture hand cream will help keep your hands and nails looking and feeling nice.

Groom your facial hair! No we don't mean you have to be cleanshaven. You can have a long beard and not look like you just walked out of a cave. The secret is grooming. Trim, condition, style. Let @shawnsuggs inspire you. Long beard? Yes. Is it still neat and groomed? Also yes.

The skin on your face also needs to get taken care of. Wash your face, and moisturize it. Being a man doesn't make your skin immune to the things that affect women's face. It needs to be taken of as well. Now that it's winter, don't skip on moisturizing your face. Believe us, doing so can do wonders for your skin. Try Shea Moisture Three Butters Lotion.

Lastly, and most probably most importantly, make yourself smell nice. ALWAYS wear deodorant. Then, if you're really feeling special, wear some cologne. You don’t have to drown yourself. Just a little goes a long way.

Already do all these things? That's great. You're one step closer to getting your life together. And if you don't already do all these things, then start and you'll be closer to getting your life together. Remember, everyone deserves and should give themselves some self love!
