This year, Dior showed their FW2020 collection on the first day of Paris Fashion Week, and they sure did make a statement! Under creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, this 70s inspired collection was very impactful, especially after Harvey Weinstein's conviction. Featuring bold signs with the feminist and empowering words, ”Consent”, “When Women Strike The World Stops,” and “Patriarchy=Climate Emergency” the intention of this collection was very clear. No stranger to distinctive creations, Chiuri designed this collection inspired by her own rebellious childhood during the 70s in Rome. With “I Say I” as a phrase seen in this collection, which is the 1970s equivellent to the saying “you do you,” these looks are meant to evoke a certain empowering attitude.
