DIY: Hair Masks
Whether it’s giving your hair a break by finding the perfect protective style for it or finding the perfect hair care routine to lock in moisture for the best growth results, our hair has many needs and it’s super important that we cater to them! A major part of the process that is often overlooked and forgotten is hair masks. Think of them like conditioners but tens times more intense. They’re filled with natural oils and lipids in heavier concentrations than your everyday condish. Hair masks are known for adding moisture, which in turn reduces frizz and breakage -- aka they work wonders for your hair. If you don’t believe us, try one of the DIY masks we’ve listed below!
Eggs are a rich source of protein and pantothenic acid – both great for healthy and shiny hair. They’re also packed with vitamin A, E, B and D. The fatty acids in egg yolk moisturize and condition your hair, while the protein in egg whites strengthen and add texture to your hair.
Avocados are packed with amino acids and proteins, which help to put an end to breakage and damage. Bananas add shine to your hair because of their richness in antioxidants and Vitamin C.
Coconut oil is loaded with fatty and lauric acids that help with breakage and moisture. Coconut oil in addition to the benefits from the avo and honey make this the perfect weekly mask. Pro tip: Heat the oil up and apply it to your hair!
